How WP Rollback’s New Feature Simplifies Pro Plugin Updates

WP Rollback is stepping up its game for pro plugins. Unlike standard plugins on WordPress.org, pro plugins are often not readily available to everyone, mainly because they’re not stored in a common repository that WP Rollback can directly access. So, what’s our workaround?

Whenever your site updates a pro plugin, WP Rollback cleverly keeps a copy of the version you had before the update. It’s like having a safety net. Over time, this means you’ll have a collection of past versions – a handy backup in case you need to revert to an older version.

But wait, there’s more! We’re planning to let you control how many of these old versions you want to keep. Plus, you might even get to choose where to store them. Imagine having the option to save these backups in a secure off-site location like Amazon S3, accessible for all your WordPress sites. That’s not just convenient; it’s a game-changer for managing your pro plugin versions!

So, When Can You Get Your Hands on This Update?

As much as I’m excited about this, I have to remind you (and myself!) that this is a side project. My time to dedicate to it is limited, but the goal is by Summer 2024, we aim to have WP Rollback polished, thoroughly tested, and ready for action.

Given the complexity of this update, we’re thinking of releasing it as version 3.0. It’s not just an update; it’s a giant leap forward for WP Rollback, arguably the most significant enhancement we’ve ever made.
